I went to India in 2016 with a deep connection to Eastern philosophy and a curiosity about the culture.  I landed in Delhi and was immediately out photographing everything: the rickshaw driver,  a dashboard Ganesh, the children trying to sell me pencils at the red light, the lady with a drum on her head, a small floral arrangement next to a tiny Kali statue with a candle.

I am curious about people and having the camera gives me access.  I go out with an idea of what I would like to photograph, and at the same time, I stay open to the unfolding of life around me. There are times I am photographing when I feel invisible, and other times when my presence is clearly known.  Some days I am drawn to chaos and action, and others I am drawn to the stillness.  My photographs capture a sense of the humanity I encounter.
